Hello! My name is Gary I'm your admin and fellow Honda / Acura tech. I have been working on cars for 14 years almost half that on Honda products. Im now an Acura Master Tech and shop foreman at a dealer in Tempe Arizona. I enjoy my work and I am always trying to stay on top of the technology and issues we see as techs in the field everyday. I decided to start this forum because sometimes the best place to get the answers a hard working tech is looking for is by asking your peers. Please join me in building this forum to be a good resource and we'll try and have some fun doing it. Since this forum is only days old it is very empty but with some good input from everyone who joins we could really have something nice here. I'll be adding catagories for discussion, selling stuff, and anything else we can come up with as I get the time to do so. Thanks, Dr.G

Hello

I'm Dave I've been a honda and acura tech for over 10 years and I love this Idea and hope it catches with everyone out there. logg on now get registered and share. I like many of you have had to wait on tech line for up to an hour to find out the problem i'm having is a reoccuring event nation wide and that there has not been a tsb or recall announced yet. This is another great way to share your troubles and what you found to help our diag go that much quicker. notify your service managers and get your stores online asap to help us grow.
and thanks to all that share!

I am Darin Kronner, I am a newbie compared to many of you. I have been an after market tech for most of my life. I became a Honda tech December 2009 and made an Acura tech the first of this year (Jan 2011) I am ASE master certifed, serice consultant certified, and undercar certified. Like many of you, I also enjoy complaining about tech2tech. I work in Peoria, Illinois at Bob Lindsay Acura. I have been able to use a lot of the information on here and see it put to use in the real world.

Hello,

I'm Nick Sakamoto. I've been a Honda tech for 8 years and been in the field for 12 years. I'm currently a tech over at Honda Windward in Hawaii. I've been curious as to when someone would come up with this idea.

Hello everyone, my name is Richard Burleson. I started working on Honda vehicles only back in 1986. I worked at several dealers over the years. I am a Honda Master Tech and actually won the Honda Top Tech contest in two zones, once in Texas and once in Colorado. I am also a ASE Master Tech.
I got away from the dealership for 7 years and had my own shop, where I specialized on Honda only vehicles. Five years ago I was offered a position of parts and service manager where I am now, in Lufkin Tx. I have to stay behind the desk a lot now, but still enjoy getting out in the shop as much as possible. At this time we have a small dealership. Our shop has 7 bays and I have two techs and a lube tech. We are in the process of building a new dealership, we will be going into a 16 bay shop. It has been fun planning a lot of things for the new shop over the last year, we are suppose to break ground this spring/summer.
My hobbies are geocaching and Christmas lights. I have a large computerized light show at my house and at my church every year.
Geocaching is a hobby I enjoy with my wife. We have been married 32 years.
I started talking to Gary on Facebook and told him I had approached Honda about starting something like this, but was shot down. I am glad to see this forum started and I hope it really takes off. I think we can share a lot of info to make everyone's life easier. I know from just working in a large shop at one time (25 techs) that we can learn a lot from each other. There has to be a lot of issues that we are finding that would be invaluable to someone else here.
Thanks Gary for getting this started.

Hey Guys nice site,my name is Ray Hall and I have been doing this stuff since '78 right after I graduated from Arizona Automotive Institute.I worked at Ford dealers,Chevy dealers and independent shops till I found home in Coos Bay Oregon.Got a job at the local honda dealer in '87 and been here since..24 years, wow how time flies.I am an a.s.e. master and multiple years platinum with honda....probably never will get to master with honda cuz I simply dont get to the training center enough.I work at a small dealership,4 bays and 4 techs(try to get your hours with that arrangement! lol)But oh well, southern Oregon Coast is Gods country right? Worth it in my book.We got big sand dunes here so you may have heard about them,I ride my cr500 out there quite a bit and when I get bored with that its out into the woods for some warp speed trail riding.....also a nascar nut when its raining too hard to make riding any fun....lol Hope to make friends and get some good tips out of this, thanks
